We come together to honor and celebrate the life of Joan Kathleen Noela (Daly) Benjamin, lovingly known to most as "Lynn". Born on December 23, 1947, at Glendon Hospital in Plymouth, Montserrat, Lynn graced the world with her intelligence, resilience, and beauty. On November 10, 2024, at the age of 76, she departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and love.

Lynn was the beloved daughter of Catherine Elizabeth Daly and William Davidson Lee. Though born in Plymouth, Montserrat, her earliest years were spent in St. John’s, where she attended St. John’s Elementary School. Even as a young girl, her determination and brightness shone. At age nine, Lynn moved to Plymouth to live with her aunt and cousins, the Daniels, for four years while her mother worked in England and later in the United States, preparing for Lynn to join her. This period of separation was a testament to Lynn’s strength and her mother’s commitment in creating a better future.

While living in Plymouth, Lynn attended Wellesley Elementary and Montserrat Secondary School, excelling academically and forming lifelong bonds with her cousins. She was also an active member of St. Anthony Anglican Church, where her values of faith and community were nurtured.

In 1960, at the age of 13, Lynn reunited with her mother in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where she flourished. She graduated with honors from Jeremiah E. Burke High School and completed her training at the Boston Clerical School. Lynn went on to build a successful career in banking, working diligently at the Provident Institute for Savings, U.S. Trust, and ultimately the Federal Reserve Bank. She retired as a highly respected supervisor in the Check Collection Department, leaving a lasting impression on her colleagues.

Lynn’s love story with her husband, William "Victor" Benjamin, was one to celebrate. They first met as teenagers at a birthday party, where Victor nervously asked her to dance—a moment that began their lifelong partnership. Though Victor went to work in California, their love blossomed through a long-distance courtship. Famously, Victor drove across the country to reunite with Lynn and propose. They married soon after, celebrating their honeymoon in Boston, Niagara Falls, and Toronto, Canada. Together, they built a home filled with mutual respect, understanding, and unwavering love.

Their married life began in a two-family home in Roxbury, Massachusetts, shared with Lynn’s mother. Here, Lynn and Victor raised their two children. Later, their hard work and dedication led them to their dream home in Canton, Massachusetts, where Lynn lived for the rest of her life. She poured love into her home, tending to her vibrant flower garden filled with roses, daisies, and impatiens. Inside, she welcomed family and friends with warmth, laughter, and flavorful meals. Sundays often began with elaborate breakfasts shared with loved ones, a tradition that embodied her generosity and care.
