Obituary for Jean R. Dudley

Jean R. Dudley, age 99 of Quincy formerly of Milton, died March 19, 2024 peacefully at home.

Jean was a member of the First Congregational Church in Milton for 62 years where she served on multiple boards and committees. She was instrumental in the redecorating of the sanctuary after a major reconstruction project in the mid 1990โ€™s.

Jean enjoyed traveling the world visiting numerous countries in Europe, Africa, and South America as well as extensive travel in the U. S. Mention a country and Jean would clearly describe her time and experiences while traveling.

As a resident of Milton for 95 years Jean graduated from Milton High and attended Boston University. She was very active in the Council on Aging and the Milton Historical Society. She especially enjoyed presentations on Miltonโ€™s past by historian Anthony Sammarco

After retiring from John Hancock, Jean was a longtime volunteer at the Milton Hospital Gift Shop where she made many friends of the doctors, nurses and staff.

Daughter of the late Benjamin and Vera (Ross) Dudley, sister of the late Franklin Dudley, aunt of Steven Dudley of Denton, TN, Andrew Dudley of Peach Tree Corners, GA and Jeffery Dudley of Roswell, GA.

Jean was a longtime friend of Frank & Jaye Wilson of Milton and Anne McCarthy of Quincy.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Milton Animal League 181 Governor Stoughton Lane Milton MA

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 9 at the First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Ave., MILTON at 10:00 am. Inurnment will be private.
