Obituary for Jean (Connolly) Ahearn

Jean Ahearn, 69, of Norwell and formerly of Milton, passed away December 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving children and their spouses.

Jean survived a major brain bleed and catastrophic stroke just over 11 years ago but after losing her beloved husband of nearly 47 years, Bill, this August that loss was too much to withstand.

She was a graduate of Bridgewater State College for social work and worked at Milton View Nursing Home for many years until her focused shifted to raising her young children. She was an amazing mother and wife throughout the years. Holding down the fort and making magic happen every holiday. Her home was always the most welcoming. There was nothing she wouldn’t have done for her family and friends when she was well, and to be loved by Jean meant to be spoiled.

Her greatest love of her life was truly her grandchildren and she believed upon leaving this Earth she would serve a greater purpose to watch over them, always.

Beloved wife of the late of William Ahearn, Sr. Loving mother of William B. Ahearn, Jr., and his wife Amber of Scituate and Kelli Ahearn-Lucas and her husband Artie of W. Bridgewater. Cherished Nana of Johnny, Bodie, Camden, Violet, Harlow, and Duggan. Sister of Elaine Cotell of North Carolina. Jean was predeceased by her parents Timothy Connolly and Marie (Saletta) Connolly, and her brother Timothy Connolly, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Wednesday, December 20th at 10:30 am. Family and friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to benefit SETD5 Syndrome Research in honor of Duggan Ahearn, in memory of Jean. https://www.childrenshospital.org/departments/genetics

Dear beautiful Jean and family, I just learned of Jean's passing, and I am very sad. I went to elementary school, junior high and high school with Jean. She was a beautiful girl and woman inside and out. Always a smile on her beautiful face. She made everyone smile. I hope I see her in Heaven some day. Even though I have not seen Beautiful Jean in years, I'm just as sad as if she went to Heaven yesterday . Love, Diane (Ogden) Sheehan
