Obituary for James P. Smith

James P. β€œSmitty” Smith of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, with his daughters by his side. He was 60 years old.

Beloved father of Samantha and Victoria Smith, both of Dorchester. Former spouse and dear friend of Peggy Smith of Dorchester. Son of the late Hamilton and Maureen Smith. Brother of Mark Smith and his wife Maria of Reading, Marlene Jankowski and her husband Richard of Plymouth and the late Brian Smith and Karen Garney. James is also lovingly survived by nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family.

Smitty was born and raised in Dorchester. He was Union carpenter and had a longtime career with Local # 218, Boston. James spent summers at Ellis Haven Campground with his family and forged many great friendships throughout the years. He also enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, and listening to Classic Rock on the Radio. Most of all James loved his daughters who were the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday November 4th at 11 AM in St. Brendan Church, Saint Martin de Porres Parish, 589 Gallivan Blvd. Dorchester.

Visitation will on Monday 9:30am- 10:30am in Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills.

Interment Private.
