Isabel Daveiga Barbosa “Bebe”, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Born on May 6, 1927, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, to the late Edward and Carolina (DaVeiga) Cardoso, Isabel grew up with a strong sense of family and tradition. She married her beloved husband, Manuel Barbosa, and together they raised eight children,

Manuel Cardoso, Maria “Fau” Galvao,
Napoleon Barbosa (predeceased), Augusto Barbosa (predeceased) and
Maria Barbosa (predeceased).

In 1975, Isabel immigrated to the United States, to Boston MA where she lived with her family for over 40 yrs.

Isabel's passions included cooking, listening to music, and taking leisurely walks around her neighborhood. She took pride in helping others and touched many lives. One of her greatest joy’s was spending time with her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Manuel Barbosa, her five beloved children,
14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends

We will miss her love, warmth, and the family traditions that she instilled in us for many generations to come. Forever in our hearts “Vovo” Your love, warmth, and legacy will continue to inspire and nourish our hearts.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Thursday, January 16th from 5-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter's Parish, 311 Bowdoin Street, DORCHESTER on Friday, January 17th at 10AM. Interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
