Isabel Alves, better known as Pipizinha, was born in Fonte Aleixo, on January 26, 1927, daughter of Maria de Chepa and Francisco de Pina.
She had 8 sisters and 6 brothers. Her best childhood friend was Kina de Néné de nha Coleta.
Pipizinha met her husband Rogerio Alves also known as (Rapazinho de Ni) when she was nineteen years old and they got married in 1977.
They had 9 children (Orlando, Landa, Manzinha, Judita, Goli, Domingo, Mané and Nair), 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She immigrated to the USA in 1998 and her desire was to help the family she left in Cape Verde and bring them closer to her.
With great desire, she managed to reunite the whole family in the USA in 2021.
What she liked the most was dancing talaia baxu, smoking her pipe and loved scarf that she never left behind.
Pipizinha lived the rest of her life with her family.
She was friendly to everyone. She had a humble heart, helping everyone without making distinctions.
She spent her last day in the company of her children and grandchildren who loved her very much.
The friendship she had with her grandchildren was her greatest treasure.
Wife, mother, grandmother, friend, go in God's peace. You left a huge void in our hearts.
