Obituary for Irene A. Noonan

Irene A. Noonan peacefully entered eternity with the Lord and her loved ones on January 4th, 2024. Irene (also known as “Reenee” and “Gammie”) was surrounded and supported by family in her cottage that she helped her father build. Born August 28th, 1930, in Boston to Daniel and Mary Perrin, Irene grew up in Medford. Irene was the youngest of 4 and is predeceased by her parents and siblings, Mary, Dorothy, and Robert. Growing up the Perrin’s would vacation in Tewksbury. During her teens she worked as a chambermaid at the hotels down the Main Beach in Hampton. She excelled in academics.

Irene met her husband Edward Louis Noonan Jr. at North Beach in Hampton. They were married in December of 1951. Irene was an avid skater, good swimmer, and stellar tennis player in the Milton League where she won multiple championships at the courts. She had 4 boys and raised her family in Quincy and Milton. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. and first-born son, Edward R. For years, Reenee was a Eucharistic Minister at Milton Hospital where she would bring Communion, hope, and joy to those needing a healing touch. Irene was a Daily Communicant, devout Catholic and a deeply strong woman of faith, hence the nickname "Mother Superior" from her rosary group. She attended Saint Mary's, Saint Elizabeth’s, Saint Patrick's, and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Her work ethic, grit, determination, and “no complaints” attitude were testaments to her character, personality, and the generation she was raised in. She leaves behind 3 sons, John, Dennis, and Christopher, many loving and grateful grandchildren and great grandchildren, and cherished friends. She will be missed and is loved dearly by all. Her impact and soul will never be forgotten. Rest in Paradise, Gammie. WE LOVE YOU! Keep smiling

We would like to thank Sharon, Maria, Sonya, and Natalie for their wonderful care and compassion of Irene over the last year.

Chris and family so sorry for your loss. Your mother was truly a living and holy person. I was introduced to her at St. Patrick's seven years ago. The rosary and prayers she led us in were so beautiful. She was introduced to me as "Mama" and that is what I called her. Rest in peace and enjoy your heavenly reward. Sincerely, Donna Adams
