Obituary for Icilda Taylor

Icilda Taylor left this earth rejoicing in this marvelous, full, and free salvation on Thursday October 7, 2021.

Leading up to her departure from this life, she was worshiping and praising God with such vigor even though she was weak, and her lungs were badly damaged. To God be the Glory!!

She was able to rejoice, worship and praise the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords because in the year 1976, at United Pentecostal Church, Wildman Street, Kingston Jamaica, she repented of her sins, received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and was baptized in the beautiful name of Jesus.

She emigrated to the United States of America in 1994 with her husband, Ralston A. Taylor (deceased), and continued to live, praise and worship God as a member of Boston’s United Pentecostal Church, Brighton MA, and Pentecostals of Boston, formerly Lighthouse Tabernacle of Truth. When she was not at Church or tending to her family’s needs, she worked for several years at the Massachusetts General Hospital and retired in January of 2017. Where and when did the life of Icilda Taylor begin – Icilda Taylor’s life began on October 22, 1945, in the district of Desire, Clarendon, Jamaica. After completing her early and high school education in Clarendon, she moved to Kingston Jamaica and met, married, and raised a family with Ralston A. Taylor, (deceased). Icilda, Bibi, Sis. T, Mother T, loved God, and always sought to give of her time and finances to the Kingdom of God; to people in the Kingdom of God, as well as those not yet in the Kingdom of God. She strove to raise her family to love, fear and honor God.

Like the woman in Proverbs 31 v 30-31, “…. a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised!

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her at the gates.” Icilda Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Ralston A. Taylor, brother, Neville Messam, mother, Christina McBean and father, Samuel Messam. She is survived by her children (Ann & Leaton), many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, grandchild (Isaiah), in-laws and other family members.

Visitation will be held at Boston United Pentecostal Church, 73 Brooks Street Brighton, MA on Wednesday October 20th from 9-10 AM. Funeral Service at 10 AM. Interment at Saint Michael Cemetery.
