Obituary for George F. Webber
George F. Webber, 79, left this world on December 28, 2021, from his home in Marshfield, MA.
George was the first-born child of George J. Webber and Antoinette (Uva) Webber. He is survived by his two sisters Barbara Webber of Taunton, MA and Nancy Reidy of Quincy, MA and had a predeceased baby brother, Marcy Webber.
George was uncle to Mark Reidy of West Hartford, CT, Brenda Rosemond of Weymouth, MA and Josh Reidy of Holbrook, MA. Also, remembering George, several great nephews, nieces, plus numerous cousins, and longtime friends.
As a young man, he joined the Air Force and on return, so grown and matured, he at first, was barely recognizable to his own dad.
Having studied much math, chemistry, film and he too was a former organic chemist. In his later years, he was a professional driver, thoroughly enjoying, many diverse, interesting, and generous clients. They depended on him for years. He found his niche.
Being quite a storyteller, and so outgoing, he socially engaged with everyone and well-known to be benevolent with strangers.
Always a free spirit, easy going, with a gifted memory, he too was very intellectually capable to stand up for himself, when the situation called.
From early childhood, George was truly artistic. He took found objects (like pieces of furniture) creatively finished and transformed them into unique works of art. An ardent shopper, he too was a great resource for top-rated products, up on fashion and a connoisseur of ethnic foods. He cared much for all his possessions. George fostered many interests: photography, music and loved outdoor life, camping, canoeing, fishing and biking. Lastly, so important to George, his lifelong mantra; In life and death, he did it his way.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Off Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA on Thursday, January 20th at 12:45 PM. Please arrive no later than 12:30 PM and wear a mask for safety.
