Obituary for Gary C. Comoletti

Gary C. Comoletti, age 72, a lifelong resident of Braintree, died peacefully, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, in the comfort of his loving family.

Gary was born in Quincy, to the late Joseph Comoletti and Elsie J. (Caliacco) LeVangie. Raised and educated in Braintree, he was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1970, and Bentley College, Class of 1975.

He began his career as an accountant and later utilized that experience to become a solution consultant in the software industry for many years, before retiring from NetSuite ten years ago.

Gary and his wife, Judy, loved to travel and cruise. They visited seventeen European countries, and many other destinations across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Together, they cherished special family trips and good times on Deer Isle in Maine. This relaxing island provided opportunities to have fun with family by kayaking, hiking, watching the stars, playing games, and eating good food. He and Judy also relished their Saturday night date nights at various South Shore restaurants.

Gary was an avid Boston sports fan and was both a Boston Celtics and New England Revolution season ticket holder. He used to play softball recreationally with friends and loved to get out on the golf course weekly with his golfing buddies.

He was always active in coordinating his Braintree High class reunions, and stayed in touch with many through meet ups, the monthly breakfast club, and annual summer get-togethers in Falmouth.

His son, Kevin, was his pride. Gary was involved through his childhood and beyond through coaching youth baseball and basketball, planning Dad and son vacations, seeing the Rolling Stones or Sanatana in concert, or spending quality time together.

Gary was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Beloved husband for forty-four years of Judith L. “Judy” (Haskell) Comoletti.

Devoted father of Kevin M. Comoletti and his wife Casey of Norfolk.

Loving grandfather of Henry and Everett.

Dear brother of Steven D. Comoletti and his wife Diane of Hingham, the late Beverly A. Donnelly and her late husband James.

Gary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and their families.
