Gamaliel Baptista Santiago also known as “Gamy” departed his life on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
Gamy was born in Puerto Rico, on February 28, 1981 to Nereyda Santiago and John Monteiro and shortly after relocated to Boston, MA at 2 months old. He received his education at Charlestown High School, in Charleston MA. As time went on he pursued a degree in Culinary Arts and landed a job at the Top of the Hub located in the Prudential Center in Boston, MA.
Gamy was a very loving and caring person who loved his family and always enjoyed spending quality time whether it be at a celebration, cookout or just catching up with family and friends. He was a sports lover who enjoyed all types of sports and was a true Boston sports fan. When he was younger, one of his favorite sports that he enjoyed playing was baseball. Gamy was a well rounded young man.
Gamy came to know Christ while attending Greater Generations Tabernacle Church Inc. under the leadership of the Late Pastor Joe L. Smith II. He enjoyed his church family and the fellowship, especially with his father John Monteiro and the GGTC brotherhood.
Gamy will be remembered by his affectionate love, warm hugs and protective image that he always demonstrated and shown towards his family and those he met along life’s journey. His big affectionate smile plastered on his face whenever he was surrounded by his parents, siblings, family and friends will always be in our hearts.
Gamy leaves behind so many to love and cherish his memory. Loving son to Nereyda Santiago, John and Andrea Monteiro. Loving siblings, Melissa Bartlett (Chris Bartlett) Somerville, MA, Cynthia Santiago of Cambridge, MA, William Rivera of Cambridge, MA, Audrianna Montiero and Jonathan Montiero of Randolph, MA. Nieces and nephews, David Ortiz, Divancci Tejeda, Aliana Tejeda, Melina Bartlett, Gianna Bartlett, Dante Ramero Cruz Cruz, Nathaliah Rivera, loving grandparents and host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Monday, August 23 from 11 AM -12 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12 PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Private
