Obituary for Etisone Tata

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Etisone Tata, who departed this world on September 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Etisone Tata, known affectionately as "Eddie" or "Eki," was born on July 1, 1954, in Aoa, a village of Tutuila, American Samoa, to the late Taua Olomua and Fouesea Sefo Taito.

At the age of 18, Etisone enlisted in the military, dedicating over two decades of his life to service. It was during this time that he crossed paths with Margareth, the love of his life, and they embarked on a journey that led them to Germany and California before settling in Boston. Their union brought three children into the world.

A true martial arts enthusiast, Etisone trained diligently in Karate, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Taekwondo. In South Korea, he even shared his passion as a martial arts instructor. His interests extended to fishing, barbecuing, racquetball, and volleyball. Following his military retirement, Etisone found purpose as a security officer at Longwood Security.

Etisone, aged 69, leaves behind a legacy cherished by his children: Lorida Etisone Tata-Faasua, Edison Tata Jr., Jaslyne Tata, Lovina Fouesea Tata, and Jonathan Etisone Tata. His grandchildren Samuel Fuiava, Vennessa Faasua-Garcia, Kennedy John Faasua, Etisone Peteroni Faasua, Ethan Monson Faasua, Patsy Tata, Edison Laauli Tata, Frank Moilo Tata, Kyoung Tata, Monica Song-Suk Tata and Brandon Mitchell. His great-grandchildren Jayden Tufi Fuiava, Samuel Fuiava, Taymar O. Fuiava, Tayiah T. Fuiava, Jaybez K. Fuiava and Eris Liahona Garcia.

He is also survived by his siblings: Asuelu Tata, Ololesaofia Sefo, Christina Leatimua, Sauimalae Devoux, Peniamina Taito, Fou Tavai, Petesa Sefo, Malae Olomua Soliai, Taua Taua Jr. Olomua, Pita Olomua, Nanavale Olomua, Valentini Letasi Olomua, Nerisa Olomua Pelesasa, Tolofa’i Olomua and Ane Olomua Fautua. As well as numerous friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his siblings O’Neil Olomua and Farani Olomua.

Etisone exemplified strength in the face of dementia, enduring numerous trials while embracing life to the fullest. His immense heart and selflessness endeared him to all, always willing to go the extra mile for loved ones. In his final years, his children surrounded him with love, a reminder of the affection he inspired. Etisone will be profoundly missed, and we find solace in knowing he has found eternal peace.

Hello Tata Family, you all have my deepest sympathies for the lost of your loved one. Many pray the Lord's Prayer, asking for Gods Kingdom to come and his Will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. We pray because Gods Kingdom will do away with the pain, suffering, sickness and death as we know it. Soon Rev 21:3,4 will be realized.. 'He will wipe the tears from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor pain, nor outcry, the former things will have passed away.' Please take comfort in knowing this is a temporary sleep, he is to be awaken soon. John 5: 28,29. Nina, Margareth and family you are in my prayers, love you. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’•
