Our dear Etienne was a father, a brother, a thinker, and a dreamer. And he was so loved. Etienne Regis - Affectionately known as Po or Tienno to some - was born on March 2nd, 1958, to Eliza Regis and the late Roger Valery in Vieux-Bourg d’Aquin Haiti. Upon emigrating to the Dorchester, MA with his family in 1977, Etienne attended the Jeremiah E. Burke High School, before going on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Master of Science and Management from Lesley College. His hunger for education and devotion to working hard brought him success. Etienne began his career at LTX before working as an investment specialist for Bank of America and a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley. Then, his creativity and courage as an entrepreneur saw him start his own businesses, where Etienne poured himself into all aspects of managing a franchise or driving young people across the city. All the while, Etienne worked hard to make a family with his then wife Marie Carole Morency Regis. They were blessed with two beautiful, smart, and courageous daughters, Jennifer and Catienna Elizabeth Regis. In the last chapter of his life, Etienne seemed the most content was on his plot of land in the Dominican Republic. Sitting underneath his lemon, banana, and orange trees, enjoying his garden and the fruits of his labor, he’d chuckle with satisfaction. He was happy to have found a home close to where he was born and invited family to join him under the sun. His family, after all, was his rock. He was a reliable brother, an uncompromising ally, and always a good laugh. Etienne is survived by his 93-year-old mother, Eliza Regis and is preceded in death by his father Roger Valery, sister Madeline Vallery, niece Samantha Beauduy and nephew Evantz Raymond and cousin, Claude Regis. A Funeral Service will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Monday March 27 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Burial Fairview Cemetery.
