Obituary for Ernest L. Thomas

Ernest L. Thomas passed away on June 7, 2023.

Ernest was born on April 3, 1937, to the late Charlie and Arlie Thomas. Ernest had four siblings: his brothers Willie Thomas, Alfred Thomas, and Charlie Thomas Jr., and one sister, Gladys White-Jones.

He attended Terrel County school system and once lived in New Jersey, however, home became Boston, Massachusetts where he worked as a construction worker.

Ernest loved to cook, and his specialty was BBQ, in particular his home-made BBQ sauce. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.

Ernest leaves to cherish in his memory, wife Arlene Baldwin Thomas with whom he shares two daughters Pauletta Baldwin who is no longer with us and Mary-Alice Baldwin, grandchildren Arlene Baldwin and Brittany Baldwin, great grandchildren, twins Jayden and Janiyah Baldwin and a loving, bonus grandson Ledell Wilkerson Jr.

Ernest was predeceased by his first wife and their daughters Frinzetta and Betty. In addition to leaving to cherish his memory four grandchildren; Washawn Thomas, Michael Parks, Nyesha Dotson and Robert Tolbert and five great-grandchildren.

Lastly, Ernest, memory will be upheld by two special men Travis White and Jason Reaves and a host of numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Saturday, June 17th from 1:30-2:30pm. Funeral Service at 2:30pm
