Elisabeth Maureen O’Hearn, 97, of Hingham, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away Friday September 9, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Boston, Elisabeth was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Girls Latin School, Boston, received a B.A. in English from Emmanuel College and a master’s in business management from Simmons College.

Elisabeth retired after 37 years of service from the Brockton Public School system as the Principal of Saint Colman Elementary School for 2 years, Principal of North Junior High School for 18 years, taught at West Junior High School and was the Department Head of the English Department for 17 years.

She served as President of the Alumni Association for two terms, Board of Director for many years and Office of Development and Alumni Relations from 1992-2008.

Predeceased by her loving parents John P. and Elisabeth L. (Brine) O’Hearn and her siblings Jean P. O’Hearn, Ann Marie Fish and John P. O’Hearn, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ann (Tomasello) O’Hearn and many nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Resurrection Church, 1057 Main Street, Hingham Wednesday, September 14 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visitation at the church beginning at 9:15 AM. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
