Edward M. Perkins, Jr., 86 of Milton, passed away February 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester to the late Edward M. and Florence G. (Connell) Perkins. Graduate of Boston College High School, Suffolk University, undergrad and masters in education and Bridgewater State College, masters in library science. Prior to college, Edward enlisted in the United States Navy.

Edward was a teacher and librarian for many years with the Boston Public Schools. He loved spending his summers in Chatham, traveling and most especially spending time with family.

Beloved husband of Helen K. (Higgins) Perkins. Loving father of Rosemary Sprague and her husband Walter of Whitman. He is also survived by his sister Maureen Perkins of Dorchester. Edward was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen M. Antoniazzi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Wednesday March 6 at 10:30 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday March 5 from 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
