Obituary for Eda Marshall
Eda (Anderson) Marshall passed away on January 26, 2024.
Eda was born on May 19, 1934 to her father, Beldford Beckles and mother, Eloraine Anderson in Tela, Honduras. In her early days, Eda was a factory worker and seamstress. With the passing of time she learned and mastered new skills and found herself working in the presidential house, as a private chef. She later went on to work a career as a secretary for the United States Embassy in Honduras. While in Honduras, Eda lived a hard yet wonderful life and her ambition only propelled her into further adventure.
In 1974, Eda got an opportunity, through her work at the embassy, to migrate to the United States to begin a new life, which led her to living in New York. When she first arrived in the United States, Eda was employed as a private chef for a family for a short while before moving, and settling, in Boston, Massachusetts. Eda spent the majority of her career working as a culinary teacher in the Brookline area, and as a caregiver in the Boston area, which she would go on to receive accolades for her services as a home health aid. Eda found love in Boston and created a life full of joy and devoted herself to her family.
In her leisure, Eda enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, dancing and shopping. Her passion was also found in gardening, entertaining, and spending quality time with family and friends. Eda made it a priority to gather with her family, create memories and enjoy the small moments. She was known to be a generous host and a kind soul.
Eda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Barbara Beckels, Viviana Peña Beckles, and Jackeline Stichel, twenty grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Dorothy Belcarris and David Kavanaugh, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Eda will rejoin her late husband, Thomas Marshall, daughter, Norma Beckles, and siblings: Joseph Beckles, Charles Stewart, Rota Wagner, Delphina Beckles, Joseph Arnold Kavanaugh, Victor Kavanaugh, Flemming Kavanuagh, Marcus Kavanaugh, Amy Kavanaugh, Helen Kavanaugh, Robert Kavanaugh, Aurthor Kavanaugh and Harold Kavanaugh.
