Dorothy Lee Williams Yarn entered eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, November 3, 2024, at the hour of 4:04 p.m. She was born in Harnett County, N.C. on March 28, 1940. She was the second child of the late Lacy B. and Ruby Gilchrist Williams.

Dorothy, affectionately called "Bigma”, was a loving mother and caregiver. She was a homemaker who took care of her children, family, and friends. She loved playing spades, watching westerns, and drinking Pepsi Cola. Dorothy moved to Boston in the late 60's.

Preceding her in death was her parents Lacy B. and Ruby Williams, her husband Allen Horne, three brothers: Ernest Jr., Billy Ray, and Eddie B., and one daughter, Gwendolyn Hair.

She leaves to cherish fond memories with lots of love: two daughters, Angela Covington of Randolph, MA and Penny Dixon of Boston MA, two brothers, Floyd W. Williams (Minnie) Williams of Boston MA and Robert E. Williams of Boston, MA, two sisters: Lillie R. Elliot of Philadelphia, PA and Barbara Sammy of Boston MA, one uncle, Melvin Gilchrist of Johnston RI, grandchildren; Tawanda, Teana, Shawanda, Leana, Rayshawn, Jerimiah, Elijah, Adrian, Gwenyana, and Deonna, great grandchildren; Jacarri, Jaziiah, Janiila, Janoviah, Jakyeruh, Mariah, Aquiles, Aniiyah, Michael, Dynasty, Nicholas, Noel, Damani, Jaylani, Prince, Aaliyah, Kaydence, Elishanny, and Zaylise, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the Dolan Funeal Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, at 11 o'clock. Visiting Hour 10 - 11am. Interment Fairview Cemetery.
