Dorothea M. (Schwab) Grigoropoulos-McQuaid, of South Boston, died on April 29, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late George. Devoted mother of Nancy Doherty of South Boston, Susan Nelson and her husband, James, of Wrentham, Angela Shea and her husband, John, of Marshfield and the late Thomas McQuaid of South Boston. Sister of the late William Schwab of Yuma, AZ. Dorothea is survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 119 Common Street, Braintree on Thursday, May 6 at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON , Wednesday 4-8PM. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

A graduate of Holy Trinity High School, class of 1941, Dorothea was a member of Local 26 for 60 years. She was the first female banquet waitress at Sheraton Boston Hotel for 50 years. Dorothea was a pioneer for women and always had a beautiful smile.
