Obituary for Donald F. Sullivan
Donald F. Sullivan, 90 of Quincy and formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2023. Donald, “Papa” was born and grew up in the Mission Hill section of Roxbury. He later moved to Mattapan and Dorchester where he and “Nana” raised their family. He was a machinist by trade and loved to tinker around the house on projects and repairs. Papa could often be found watching his favorite western and war movies on TV. When the grandkids came, he spent numerous hours taking them to the local playgrounds or attending their various sporting events. In his later years when his health was failing, he resided at the John Scott House in Braintree, MA. The Sullivan family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff at the John Scott House for their genuine compassion and the loving care given to both Papa and had extended to his family. Beloved husband of the late Margaret F. (Ward) Sullivan. Loving father of Donald Sullivan, II. and his wife Kim of Rockland, Donna Sullivan of Weymouth, and the late Diane Dodd. Cherished grandfather of Jillian, Christopher, Joshua, Jayson, Jonathan and Stefanie and great grandfather (Grampy) of Victoria, Savannah, Vincent, Jaxson, and Jenna. Also survived by his brother Robert J. Sullivan of Quincy. He was predeceased by his siblings Jeannie, John and Leo Sullivan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester Saturday February 18 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday 17 from 5-8 PM. Burial Mount Benedict Cemetery. Korean War Veteran. Donald, “Papa” will be forever remembered and dearly missed by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family ask to please make donations to the John Scott House Activities Department in his name.
