Obituary for Dianna Haley

Dianna Haley, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passedaway on April18th, 2024 at the age of 72. She was born on April 6th, 1952, to the late Thurman and Vivian Haley, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

A graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Dianna's thirst for knowledge led her to Northeastern University, where she briefly pursued her educational aspirations. Her dedication to serving others guided her to a fulfilling career at the Department of Transitional Assistance, where she held various roles over the years, touching countless lives with her kindness and support.

Dianna's love for her family, and particularly her grandchildren, knew no bounds. They were the light of her life, the source of endlessjoy and pride, and the center of her world. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every hug, every smile, and every precious moment she shared with them. They were her greatest joy, her greatest blessing, and her greatest legacy.

Dianna's love for sports, especially her cherished Boston Celtics and Red Sox, was matched only by her passion for “friendly” competition around the card table. Whether it was spades, poker, rummy, or bid whist, Dianna's strategic brilliance and sharp wit made her a formidable opponent, while her mastery of Scrabble left others in awe of her clever wordplay.

An astute bargain shopper, Dianna had a knack for finding the best deals, making every shopping trip an adventure. Her love for cooking was surpassed only by her love for entertaining, as she welcomed family and friends into her home with open arms, always ensuring that no one left hungry or without a smile.

Her devotion to helping others earned her the title of "neighborhood mom," as she never hesitated to offer a helping hand to those in need. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where music played, laughter was abundant, and the aroma of her delicious cooking filled the air.

Dianna is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Neveah, and siblings Thurman Jr., Vernea, and Sandra. She is survived by her life partner Louis Brittle Sr., children Santosha, Donte, Ebony (Stephen), and Kimberly, her bonus children Louis Jr., Shkeya, Shonté, Dwaine, and Shaquana, grandchildren Shyheim, Dayquan, Shawn, Jalen, Jamari, Jamel, Marquis,Malik, Makai, Elijah,and Kelsey, and siblings Malinda,Robin, Roberta, Haywood, Judy, Janine, Ilanthia, and Robert, and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Service Friday, May 3, 2024 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, at 11 o'clock. Visiting Hour 10 - 11am. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery.
