Obituary for Delores Lemard
Delores Lemard, (nee Murray) of Montego Bay, Jamaica; Port St. Lucie, Florida and Dorchester, Massachusetts died on July 17, 2021, in Boston.
She was 74 years old; the beloved wife of 50 years to Glenn Lemard; loving mother of Seymour Leach and Deonne Leach Robinson (Steve) of Boston as well as Glen-Daros Lemard and Glendene Lemard-Marlow (Jamie) both of Texas. She was the sister of Renford, Valerie and Vinton all of Jamaica and cherished grandmother of Racquelle Leach and Samuel Leach of Stoughton and Abigail Robinson of Dorchester.
Delores was born and raised in Hanover, Jamaica. She was a conscientious student who loved learning. She pursued a career in secondary education and taught for many years. Teaching was her calling, she was firm but compassionate, always looking out for and helping less fortunate students or anyone else in need. She had an effervescent and lively personality, welcoming family and friends into her kitchen where she willingly cooked for everyone.
In the United States, she continued to care for people, working as a nursing assistant. She also completed training as a pharmacy technician.
Delores had strong faith in God and was an active member of the Agape Fellowship Baptist Church in Port St Lucie, Florida. She enjoyed singing in the choir and rendering solos whenever requested to do so. She had a genuine sense of goodwill and an understanding of servant leadership. Courageous, brave and fearless, she was the voice of those who could not represent themselves. Her perseverance in the face of crisis was unparalleled, helping others before thinking of herself. Even as she widened her circle with those she would come to know, most of all Delores loved spending time with her children and grandchildren who were the cornerstone of her life.
In addition to her immediate family and siblings, Delores is survived by many close friends; extended family members; her Agape Church family as well as many past students in Jamaica, Florida and all over the world. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her and loved her.
