Obituary for Darryl Eugene Mitchell Hodges
On Monday November 29, 2021, the one we love and knew as Darryl Eugene Mitchell Hodges Entered into Eternal rest.
Darryl Eugene Mitchell Hodges was born on March 21, 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts to Ms. Karen Hodges and Mr. Aubrey Mitchell III. He was the youngest of three children. He was baptized at an early age at Saint Ann’s Episcopal church. Darryl attended Charlestown High School. He attended Jewish Vocational Services where he received his culinary arts certificate. He worked as a PCA with Mr. Larry Ware through the VA hospital. He also worked as a construction worker, and later joined the restaurant industry. His joy came from culinary arts making different dishes.
His most profound moment was being a father to little Darryl such as spending time, playing video games, basketball, and going to the park. He loved playing video games and talking to his friends on a sports podcast. Darryl was a kindhearted person and showed so much respect to everyone starting with the children.
Darryl was preceded in eternal rest by his two grandmothers- Myrtle McGee and Silva Mitchell, grandfathers Wilfred McDuffie and Aubrey Mitchell Jr, Aunt Deborah Sanon (NJ) and Cousin Rochelle Sanon (NJ). Darryl leaves to cherish his memories devoted parents Karen Hodges and Aubrey Mitchell lll, His loving son Darryl Jachai Hodges known as DJ, a sister Sharrel Hodges and brother a Fredrick Hodges both of Boston, Massachusetts, two aunts Dorus McGee, Cynthia Lucille Mitchell, Nephews- Randall Hodges, Brannon Lee Walker Hodges, two great nieces Raniya Hodges and Kny’yuri Ivey. Special cousins Roland Thomas Jr, Cynthia Thomas, Lillian Jackson and Derrick Jackson. Also remembering his legacies his special god sister Salena Marsh (Nesto) and long time friends known as the bro’s; Peewee and Damien Patin of Boston Massachusetts. His godchildren, adopted nieces and nephews, a host of family and friends that Darryl loved deeply, we will all miss him.
Funeral Service, Monday, December 20, 2021 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS at 1 o’clock. Visitation from Noon -1pm. Interment Private.
