Cleophus of Roxbury, MA, passed away on Tuesday June, 11, 2024 at the age of 79, after courageous battle with Oropharyngeal Cancer. His passing has left a significant void in the hearts of his daughter and loved ones.

He was a Trinidadian, born and raised, but settled in Boston, MA.
Cleophus was a Veteran who served in the Army Reserves. While residing in Boston, he attended ITT Technical School where he majored in Welding. After graduating, he was later employed by the City Of Boston.

His hobbies included being the lead Double 2nd for the Silver Stars Steel Pan, a band formed in 1978, with his brothers. In Cleophus’ spare time he loved listening to instrumental music, gardening his own vegetables, bird watching, fishing, barbecuing, dancing and whistling. He also enjoyed the annual kite flying festival at Franklin Park, having won first-place several times. He loved to cookout with family & friends at the Shattuck Hospital Field.

Proceeded in death by his parents The late Mr. & Mrs Orminstone Raper (Parents) Grace O. Raper (sister), Michael S. Raper (Brother)

His legacy continues with: Latoya Jones (daughter), Jaylin Jones (son-in-law), Deandre Butler (grandson), and Deshaun Roane (granddaughter).

Cleophus is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters:
Patricia and Norris Cowart (Spouse) Anthony and Lushell Anderson-Raper (Spouse) Desmond and Odessa Raper (Spouse) Jennifer L. Raper Carole and Jerome Garnett (Spouse) and many more.

His beloved family would like to invite his closest friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Friday June 28th 10-11 am in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills.

Funeral Service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home.

Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
