Charles always greeted everyone with a smile. Years ago a group of us, including Charles, Ania and Helenka planted apple trees in Binford park. His kindness was heart-warming. We will miss him in Fort Point!

I met Charlie though my wife Betty who went to grad school with him. Charlie was ALWAYS welcoming and kind and genuinely interested in what YOUR life story was/is. We need more Charlie's in this world and I have such sadness that we have lost one.... RIP Charlie.

Charlie will always remain in the memory of those of us who loved him. He was brilliant, funny, talented and unique. May he rest in peace. May his family and friends find comfort in remembering Charlie. RIP

Charlie was such a bright light with an infectious smile...since the time since our graduate school days I often bumped into him at the Market Basket in Somerville- sometimes with his daughter and sometimes without. We would have a big, solid hug and then pull our shopping carts over and catch up. We always laughed about something! With Charlie you got the sense that he was genuinely happy to see you. He will be missed by all the many people he touched in his life and over the years. To his family and those closest to him, I am so sorry for this huge loss. As I'm gathered with my dearest Lesley Uni. friends this weekend we are talking, arts making and guitar-ing with Charlie in our hearts. Betty B.

I'm shocked and deeply saddened by this news. Charlie and I were long time friends in Boston. We grew apart in recent years but that never changed my caring or love for you. I'm deeply saddened by the news of your death. I send my love and prayers to his Mother, wife and daughter and the entire Kerwin Family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you. With love, Bronwyn "Before dust returns to the earth as it was before and the life-breath returns to God who gave it." ~Ecclesiastes 12:7

"Charlie's neat, Charlie's sweet and Charlie he's a dandy. Charlie he's the very one who stole my strip-ed candy. Over the river to feed my sheep, over the river to Charlie. Over the river to feed my sheep and bake a cake for Charlie" A song for Charlie. I will forever miss my sweet friend. My heart is broken. But I wish to remember my dear friend's warm hugs, big laughter, genuine kindness and creative spirit. Love and condolences to all of you who ever loved and knew Charlie. May we all find solace in days to come. -Anya Nika Vietze

Charlie Win taught me to go look for the meteor showers in the frigid cold; to see beauty in things others discarded - including people; to trust in your creative insight even if others did not; to love with your whole heart even if got broken; and to dance with abandon. My deepest condolences to the whole family, especially his wife and daughter.

Charlie was a friend I met in the mid 1990s. He gave full attention to the moment he was in. One time he was so enthusiastic to help me untangle a bunch of Christmas lights on my kitchen floor one day. On his hands and knees, laughing, he made it so fun, like a puzzle. Any time we suggested an activity or creative project he was always a big smiling YES for it. His laugh lives forever in my memory. I am sending prayers and love for his beautiful spirit consciousness, and to his friends and family.

"God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. Wirth the help of His angels they flew you to your heavenly place." May you rest peacefully in God's loving arms dearest Charles.
