The Bowen family announces with profound sadness the passing of Charles K. Bowen Sr., who left us on November 5, 2024, in Brockton, MA. Born on January 8, 1952, in Monrovia, Liberia, Charles was the beloved son of Colonel William B. Bowen Sr.* and Beatrice Stubblefield-Bowen*.

Charles leaves behind his devoted wife, Leona Bowen (Broderick), and cherished children: Angeline Wilson, Charles K. Bowen Jr., Charlene Bowen, and Calvin Bowen. He was a loving grandfather to Mustapha, Dajah, Darren, Joseph, Javon, Hope, and Ja’Shaun, and a proud great-grandfather to Kingston.

Charles is also survived by his siblings William B. Bowen II*, Jerome K. Bowen Sr., Brudnell E. Bowen Sr.*, Ophelia Ellen-Porte*, Josephine Bowen-Holder, James A. Bowen*, Nathaniel A. Bowen*, Beatrix Bowen-Griffith, Wilhemetta Bowen-Lewis, and Macketta Bowen; his foster siblings, Daniel Bowen and Vera Bowen.

In-laws who mourn his passing include Winifred Broderick, Evelyn Weeks, Columbus Broderick, Sylvanus Broderick, David D. Griffith*, Virginia Mitchell-Bowen, Georgiana Thompson-Bowen, Elizabeth Anderson-Bowen, and Kristin Laffey. Charles will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: Justin, Kenya, Jeweh (Karen), Joel, Jerome Jr., Erika, Nikki, Tobias, Brudnell, Barbara*, Mietta, Natasha, Kona, Jaime, Stefany-Delisle, Davina-Ashley, Josephine, Vanzetta*, William III, Precious, Maria, Victoria, and Rudolph.

Charles’ memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love.

Visiting hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday November 22 from 4-8 PM. Family and friends invited. Funeral Service at Saint Paul Parish, 701 Pleasant Street, Brockton, Saturday November 23 at 9:00 AM with a viewing immediately before at 8:00 AM. Interment Melrose Cemetery.
