Celeste (Gonsalves) Rodrigues, 70, of Quincy passed away at Boston Medical Center on Tuesday May 3, 2022.

Celeste was born in Ponte da Barca, Portugal to the late Manual Joaquim Alves and Isolina da Gloria Gonsalves. She was one of four sisters to Auora da Luiz Gonsalves, Maria da Luiz Pinto and the late Carmalinda Da Luiz Pinto. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Vicente Rodrigues of 46 years, and her son Jorge Rodrigues and his wife Deborah Rodrigues. And her grandchildren Michael Hios and Vicente Rodrigues.

She was a stong and independent woman who was dedicated to her family, friends and work. She loved feeding people with her authinic Portuguese food. She was an avid gardener and loved being in nature and sharing all the fruits of her labor. She came to America in 1976 in search of the American dream with her husband to build a better life. Her first job was working at Anthony Peir 4 in Boston which migrated to becoming meat packer at Colonial Provison in Boston to starting and building a sucessful maintainance company on the South Shore. She was always trying to find a way to help people and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. If you had the pleasure of meeting her you would never forget her, she was truly unforgettable!

She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends but will never be forgotten!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary Church, 115 Crescent Street, Quincy on Monday May 9th at 10:30 AM. Family and friends invited. Burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
