Catherine J. Kelly, 71, of Mansfield, MA formerly of Dorchester, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 30, 2024.

She was born on January 20, 1953, to the late Paul and Elizabeth Kelly. Kathy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved daughter Jeana, as well as her parents and siblings, Sheila Barends, Jane Kelly, Eileen Kelly and Sean Kelly who had passed before her.

Kathy will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed trying new things, making the most out of life. Whether it was lounging on the beach, by the pool, dancing at a concert, trying her luck at the casino, relaxing on a cruise, or vacationing with her family, Kathy was always in her element. She enjoyed game nights with her family and especially loved beating them at Rummy 500. Kathy always brought joy to those around her. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Kelly of Hanover, Danielle Garlinger of Mansfield, and Sherelle Swanson of Dorchester. Kathy is also survived by her siblings, Pauline Kelly of Stoughton, Michael Kelly of East Bridgewater, and Paul Kelly of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Molly, Matthew, James, Sophia, Loralei, Zachary, and Charlotte , and great grandsons River and Forest. Kathy was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her tenth grandchild Cecilia Josephine in July.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2215 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester, on Wednesday, June 5th, at 10:00 AM. Interment private.
