Obituary for Brian D. Morrissey
Brian D. Morrissey of Dorchester passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 19, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Boston on November 20, 1956. He was the son of Dorothy (McGinty) and Francis Morrissey. He is survived by his daughters Meghan Morrissey of Pembroke and Caleena Cesarini of Middleborough and his grandson Gunnar, and granddaughters Bella and Michaella.
Brian was one of fifteen children raised in Dorchester by his strong and loving mother Dorothy. He is survived by sisters Geri Graham of West Wareham, Deirdre London of West Roxbury, Erin Richards of Abington, Teresa Foster of Abington and brothers Michael of Canton, Kevin of Quincy, Bernard of Glenburn, ME, Dennis of Glenburn, ME, William of Meridian, ID and Timothy of Boston. Brian was predeceased by sisters Jeanne Griffin and Jayne McLaughlin and brothers Sean and Matthew.
Brian was a retired mailman. He never lived far from the city. He enjoyed playing golf especially with his best friend Bobby Richards. He enjoyed helping those in need. He was quick with a joke or to light up your smoke.
Memorial Visiting Hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Brian’s name.

Brian had a good heart and a wonderful self-deprecating sense of humor. He was a great light that sadly didn't see his own brilliance. I wish he could have known the joy he brought to the world especially through the love he gave his daughters. I often recal the fun days hanging out in Quincy and laughing to tears. I'll remember that Brian fondly. Wishing his loved one's peace knowing he is no longer in pain.

I'll always remember being a kid and the excitement of a Morrissey Christmas party at aunt Erin and uncle Bobby's knowing the "napkin thrower" would be there. Uncle Brian would come out of nowhere around the house pelting Savannah and I with rolled up napkins and chase us down the driveway on our way out, making us laugh until our stomachs hurt. I remember laughing halfway home on the ride after that. There was always laughter when you were with uncle Brian. Rest in peace. You will be so missed.

My condolences to my wife Teri and her family. Hey Brian,one of my best friends growing up,and I spent a lot of time together leaving me with a lot of memories and worked side by side for many years. I married your family and became closer to all of them as well and I'm glad I did. I'll always remember our times together and never forget you and your wit.
