Barbara Kuja O’Leary, Of Weymouth, formerly of Dennis, passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2022. Barbara was born on July 2nd, 1929 to Silva and Eli Kuja of West Quincy and was older sister to the late Jackie Kuja. She was a devoted wife to Leo Francis O’Leary of Milton for 64 years. Barbara’s parents both immigrated from Finland through Ellis Island and were proud and active participants in Quincy’s Finnish Community. Barbara and Leo were married on April 26,1958 and raised their four children in Weymouth. Barbara is survived by her children, Michael and wife Mary Lou O’Leary of Norwell, Jill and husband Brian Mullin of Stowe, VT, Christopher and wife Susan O’Leary of Ipswich and Julie and husband Bill Delaney of Duxbury. Barbara was extremely proud of her ten grandchildren: Patrick, Jon, Kellie, Seamus, Catherine, Tyler, Christopher, Cameron, Madison, Sean and Kiera. She was especially delighted with her great grandson Benson O’Leary. After graduating from Quincy High, Barbara satisfied her desire to travel by working for American Airlines as an airline attendant until she became married. She was crowned both Miss American Airline and Miss Quincy in her early years. Barbara and Leo were downhill skiing enthusiasts in the early 50’s and their second home at Sugarloaf, ME became a 25-year focal point for family and friends sharing winter activities. More recently, Barbara enjoyed living a relaxed life on Cape Cod. She and Leo relished the performances of the Cape Cod Playhouse, spending time at Cold Storage Beach, dinners in just about every restaurant in Dennis and volunteering at Our-Lady – The Cape Thrift Shop in Brewster that is associated with the Catholic church Our Lady of the Cape to which Barbara and Leo were active members. Barbara was friend to many with her sweet smile and kind and gentle ways. As a life-long friend to our entire family Barbara has always held a special place in our hearts, and always will. Her warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit made her a joy to be with. Our family vacations together skiing at Sugarloaf are memories we will cherish forever. Our thoughts are with the O'Leary family today as they lay this lovely lady to rest. The world was a better place having been graced with Barbara's presence. Kurt Dunphy

Don't think of Her as gone away. Her Journey's Just Begun, Life holds so many facets-This Earth is only one. Just think of Her as resting from the sorrows and the tears, In a place of Warmth & Comfort. Where there are no Days & Years. Think how She must be wishing that we could know Today! How nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of Her as living in The Hearts Of Those She Touched.. For nothing loved is never lost. Remember She was Loved!!! A Mother, A Wife, A Friend-she'll be missed Love Always, 🙏💗🙏 Mark Dunphy Barbara RIP
