Obituary for Annette (Vilbrun) Mondesir

Annette Mondesir (Vilbrun), of Dorchester died unexpectedly on August 13, 2021, at age 58.

Formerly of Bel-Air Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, she passed away peacefully surrounded by family who knew her vibrant spirit. Annette was born July 23, 1973 in Bel-Air Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and at age 8 on February 19, 1972 she stepped ground onto the United States.

She married Jacques Mondesir on August 25, 1985. She later had 4 beautiful children who she loved beyond measure, Cachita Mondesir, Cecelia, Tawsky, and Joseph. Annette truly had a charismatic spirit, a woman of not many words, but laughter that could fill a room. She truly respected one’s decisions and felt one should “live their life”. She truly showed compassion for others and remained humble. Throughout her life, she always tried to give love and touched an immeasurable number of hearts. Annette was an amazing sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, godmother, and most of all a phenomenal listener. A woman of faith, great strength and most of all she was REAL.

Annette was the daughter of her late father Joseph Bonheur Vilbrun and late mother Anita (Barthelemy) Vilbrun; the sister of the late Sonita Vilbrun. Her surviving family members are numerous, and include her children Cachita Mondesir of Malden, Cecilia of Dorchester, Tawsky of Boston, Joseph of Dorchester, and granddaughter Winter of Malden. Annette also leaves behind her sisters Eliana, Nicole, Yolette, Jocelyn and brother Wesner. Her family extends to being an aunt to 7 nieces, 6 nephews, great aunt to 5 nephews, and 5 nieces.

To our champion, a heart, our life line, the peacemaker. Remember you are loved even in existence and will be loved and missed in the after life. May you be met at the gates by your parents and sister. Rest in peace our dear angel.

“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun sun shine warm upon your face. The rain fall soft upon your fields. Until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.” -William Witherup
