Amy Kingsbury, passed away in Boston, MA, on June 18, 2022, at age 42.

Amy was born on July 26, 1979, in Boston, MA, to Thomas and Mary Kingsbury. Amy is a lifelong Dana Farber Jimmy Fund Brain Tumor survivor, in Boston, MA. Amy graduated Perkins School for the Blind, in Watertown, MA, in 2001. During her time at Perkins, many pieces of Amy’s artwork were displayed by several worldwide organizations, including the United Nations, to raise awareness of childhood disabilities. Amy represented the student body, on October 4, 1994, when, as the officially designated greeter, she welcomed former President George H. W. Bush to the campus. She received a kiss by him, and an invitation to tour the helicopter in which he had arrived. This event marked the inception of the Hilton Foundation, started by the former president, for Braille equipment global distribution. Amy was a light that shined on all her family, loved ones, and everyone who met her. Despite the tremendous odds, Amy displayed a loving presence with an always sunny disposition and great sense of humor. Amy enjoyed arts and crafts, music, video games, movies, bowling, horseback riding, swimming, dancing, and numerous trips to Walt Disneyworld. Amy particularly enjoyed singing at every Christmas Concert at Perkins. Amy is survived by her father Thomas Kingsbury, mother Mary Kingsbury, brother Michael Kingsbury, and sister Rachel Kingsbury, all of Boston, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 24, 2022 in Saint Gregory’s Church, 2215 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA at 12:15 PM. Visiting Hours Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Dolan Funeral Home 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, from 6-8 PM. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
