Obituary for Amiya "Mimi" Mahone

MAHONE – Amiya “Mimi”, age 8 of Dorchester. Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Amiya was an artist at heart, loving all music no matter the sound or beat she would dance in her own little way. When no music was heard she would play her own special beat using her toys and the closest wall available. Although she needed glasses to see she despised them and most likely had them dangling around her neck or possibly even used as a chew toy. She had a knack for chewing; you would find her hand in her month, her favorite toy or sometimes even your hand if you weren’t quick enough to move it away. Amiya was a bright light and a ray sunshine that loved smiling to express her love to her loved ones. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Beloved daughter of Aishah DeRosa of Dorchester and Timothy Mahone of Mattapan. Loving sister of Autumn DeRosa, Desiree Mahone, Renee Mahone, Aidan Mahone (twin of Amiya) all of Dorchester, Andre Mahone of Mattapan Cherished granddaughter of Alfred DeRosa of Boston and Mary DeRosa of Quincy, Eillie Mahone of Boston and Harry Owens of South Carolina. Adoring friend of her longtime nurse Sarah Otiono. Also survived by many caring extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22nd at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER-LOWER MILLS at 6:00 pm. Inurnment will be private. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22nd at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER-LOWER MILLS from 5:00 – 6:00 pm prior to the service.
