Obituary for Absalon Derissaint
Absalon Derissaint was born July 18th, 1938, in Belloc to Mr. Destin Derissin and Sidalise Pierre.
In 1972, Absalon left Haiti for the US. After a few years, he went back to Haiti and met his wife, Marie Myrtha. They got married on June 12th, 1975, and had three children: Jeff, Shelby and Misha Derissaint.
Absalon worked two jobs for a long time in Boston where he and his wife bought a house.
He loved his country of origin of Haiti and went there quite often. He built two houses there and had to rebuild one that was destroyed during the 2010 earthquake.
He loved his family (although reserved about expressing his feelings) and was very happy to have met his grandson Roland and was looking forward to meeting his newborn granddaughter. He was also close to his relatives, particularly his brother Daniel, who passed away a few weeks before him.
Although he was strict, Absalon will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He helped countless people to settle in the US, and financially supported a lot of relatives and acquaintances in Haiti. He treated everyone with the highest respect. He will be dearly missed by people here and in Haiti.
Despite his illness, Absalon was known for his strong spirit and lived his way.
On May 28th, 2021, Absalon was called home to be with the Lord.
